Recommendations

Working through the Top Eight Tips to Sell or Rent:
First Impression
The front entrance and forecourt area cleaned and tidied along
with the back garden.
Clutter Free
This was achieved once the old tenant had moved out as all
the clutter of the old tenant’s possessions were removed.
Previously this was providing a negative image for prospective
viewers.
Emphasise positive features
This was achieved through the refresh of the decoration which
added light and emphasised the high ceilings throughout. Once
the shelving and rails had been removed in the bedrooms, the
true potential of the property being marketed for rental as
a 3 bed property was realised.
Colour and Lighten Up
The property was painted with Natural Calico to all walls,
ceilings were painted in Brilliant White and all woodwork
was finished off in White Satinwood. This enhanced the natural
light of the main living areas and created an air of spaciousness.
Appeal of the Home
The change in colour scheme was highlighted by adding new
curtains, blinds and light fittings to all rooms. This created
an ‘At home’ lifestyle appeal for a prospective
tenant
Clean, Repair and Freshen
All utility areas were thoroughly cleaned and sanitised to
add that fresh ‘new home’ appeal. The Georgian
windows were cleaned and repaired where defective.
Modernising
The home required some updating to the interior and this was
achieved by replacing old style doors with modern moulded
ones which were painted in white satinwood to compliment the
refreshed woodwork. All the brass door furniture was replace
with aluminium fittings. New light fittings and spotlights
were added to enhance the updated image.
Lifestyle Image
The image was completed by removing the old carpet that was
dark blue and replacing it with a more neutral light brown
to ensure durability and portray high quality. All existing
appliances were safety checked and smoke alarms fitted in
both the lounge and hallway for completion of the image and
lifestyle.
Conclusion
The home was let to a new tenant with a young family within
a week of being re-marketed in the new style.

Testimonials
The recommendations were provided quickly
and a comprehensive overall quote was provided itemising all
the costs to be considered. This helped with budgeting for
the work. The service included some research on local trade
quotes which saved me a lot of time. The job was completed
within schedule and a new tenant secured in less than a week
of being re-marketed.
Landlord in London
Chrysalis Home Styling provided advice on
making a decision about colour schemes for a small living
area. Without this advice we could have made a costly mistake
choosing a colour scheme that would not have emphasised the
best features of our main living area. Although the advice
seemed like common sense we were most impressed with the quick
response to our request and the consultation fee was a small
price to pay to avoid a costly mistake that we would have
to live with every day.
Southampton Client
I needed help to decide on some additional
and replacement furniture to update a old lifestyle. I had
a lot of pine furniture that looked good in a previous home.
CHS provided ideas and recommendations to update the furniture
and re-arrange the interior to suit my new lifestyle. This
advice was well worth taking and I am delighted with my easier
lifestyle and modernised interior.
